Make Your Offer Stand Out!

The home buying process can be a roller coaster experience. You may view homes online or go to Open Houses and think you’ve found a dream house only to discover it costs too much, or you don’t like the neighborhood, or…a whole host of other reasons why it won’t work. Hopefully, you’ve been pre-approved so that you are ready to make an offer when you do find the right home. One of the most exhilarating and stressful times in the house search process is submitting an offer and negotiating your way to a signed contract!

Any recent buyer in Northern Virginia knows that if you want to buy a house, especially an updated one, you have to be ready to submit a top-notch, competitive offer. When it comes to turn-key homes, low-balling and playing games to see what kind of deals you can get are not likely to fly. This doesn’t mean you can’t still find deals or that you have to offer full or above asking price for any home you see. It just means you need to be smart and go in with a strategy for how to make your offer stand out above the rest.

The good news for you is that I do all the negotiating and it’s one of my favorite parts of being a realtor!  Here are my tips on how to put your best foot forward so we have good leverage in the negotiating process.
